Capitols of the Confederacy Permanent Approved

A few days ago, I mentioned I was working on a new N.C. permanent: Capitols of the Confederacy, a 270-kilometer route from Richmond to Raleigh. It was just approved. Thanks to Permanents Coordinator Robert Fry and my Texas friend Edward Robinson, who will take over the job in January.

As I told Robert and Edward, I can't wait for the inaugural ride with a few of my idiot friends. I'd like to make it an adventure by biking in one direction and taking Amtrak in the other.

Creating this route is what sparked all of my interest in the Google maps and GPX files I've been playing with in recent days.
