Superstitious

Riding solo under a full moon during the Lost River 400K this weekend, I heard something crashing through the ditch beside me around 3:00am. When I turned to look, it slid to a stop on the pavement, a sound like fingernails on a chalkboard, then it was gone. I never got a good look at what it was, and I still get goosebumps thinking about that sound. Was it a deer? The Devil himself? It was near the Devil's Hour.

"Very superstitious, the Devil's on his way.."
