Raleigh Biking in the News

Our local biking initiatives got some good press today from WRAL. Lots of familiar faces in this video, including BPAC Chair Alan Wiggs, Benelux ride leader Sam Bennett and David Zell, one of the owners of the Oak City Cycling Project. Also, a quick look at the new bike lanes on Hillsborough Street. Enjoy!

Mike, have you noticed the newly painted sharrows on the newly resurfaced section of St. Mary's (between Fairview and Wade, I think)?

Most of the sharrows are pretty close to being "in the gutter". Same / similar placement as the originally painted sharrows between Glenwood and Fairview. The ones the undid and then moved closer to being in the middle of the lane.

Interestingly, there is one location where there is no double-yellow, and in that location, the sharrow is where the double-yellow would normally be.

I mention to you because (I understand that) you have the contacts with "the right people", if it seems the sharrows need to be redone.

...Martin

(also I'm on someone else's computer and they use Yahoo and ... this is just easier for me.)
