Congratulations to Mike D, shown here with Jerry, as they take time out of their flèche ride today to celebrate Mike's incredible feat: he's ridden at least one 100-mile-ride for the past 100 months! To put that in perspective, if my math is right, Mike began his streak 8 years and 4 months ago, meaning January 2002. Wow- way to go, Mike! Here's to another 100 more..

Congrats, Mike!
Yesterday, on our adventure to Roxboro and Yanceyville, I mentioned to some of the Irregular crew that I figured that either this weekend or next that you would complete a century of months of centuries.
They were all immediately fatigued. Me too.

Impressive, Mike. It's not like we didn't see it coming, but it's still impressive. That's a big number and a lot of things have happened since you started.
Congratulations, Chuck
Congrats. Just thinking of all the things OUTSIDE of your control that could have prevented it.Amazing.
Wow! Congratulations, Mike! That's really inspirational. Putting it in perspective for me --- I haven't even been bicycling that long!
That's what I call dedication! Congrats, Mike & good luck on the next 100!

I knew you were a different kind of committed when you agreed to ride with a newbie in 20 something degree weather, then finished that 100 miles by yourself on your birthday after I bailed AND you left your control card at the first control. Dedicated is an understatement! Congratulations!

Impressive Mike, especially considering most of those rides were probably more than centuries. Keep up the pattern. You are an encouragement to the rest of us.
All,
I appreciate the comments. And I really appreciate the company along the way.
See ya soon on the road!

Something has been bothering me about the photos of Mike as he clicked 100 months of 100's, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Then I saw Chuck's Coho blog and the photo he posted got me to the point much like an arrow to heart of the bull's eye. And it perhaps helps to explain the 100 100's.
There definitely appears to be a Dorian Gray type thing in those photos. Maybe it is just the light, but Mike looks to be getting younger.
The question: is the cycling keeping him young, or is there a picture in the attic from 8 years ago that has aged while Mike has not?

Hey, some of the credit goes to John Edwards:-) If Mike's affections for Johnny E didn't get alienated....
Congrats!
I love Johnny. In fact, I'm having his love child....
